New U15/U18 Division Setup

U15/U18 Players and Parents,

BUSA will continue the format we started in Spring 2016 where U15/U18 is a once a week developmental program. The players will show up and be divided into small teams (based on age/skill) and play numerous small sided games with formal coaches overseeing. There are no jerseys, but all kids will be given a BUSA T-shirt the first weekend to wear at the events. There are no large formal teams playing on full fields and traveling for games. It is once a week, small sided games. These games will be played on medium size fields on Saturdays in the early afternoon. Depending on the number of players who show up the format may modify week by week and sometimes culminate into a larger game at the end. This will not be a "free for all" but rather adult supervised and organized games. Parents are encouraged to come watch their players but asked to refrain from direct play by play instructions. We want players at this age to take initiative and be creative which often means making mistakes and hopefully learning from them. They will need to wear approved shin pads and bring their size 5 ball.

This change has been implemented based on feedback from many parents as well as input from the High School soccer coaches and the BUSA Board of Directors.  The intent of this change is to increase player interaction with the ball (which improves skill and reduces monotony) and be more accommodating for the ever changing schedules of high school aged kids.

Any player also registered as a Rec U13 player must gain permission from BUSA to play in this division. Registered travel team players U14 and older are allowed to participate in this division if they have no scheduled training or matches.
